Truthfully I haven't even opened a jar yet, they are so well stored away! But I know the kids would love to eat it plain or maybe even as a jam. My canned grapes have seeds, so I will press them very well through a strainer to get all pulp possible, then probably won't be able to do anything else with them.Nataliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13369812070148512991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1393119746888894084.post-80516625493465119232013-09-07T21:15:26.142-07:002013-09-07T21:15:26.142-07:00What do you do with the grapes after you drink the...What do you do with the grapes after you drink the juice?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1393119746888894084.post-24994363438313924032012-11-09T15:32:10.000-08:002012-11-09T15:32:10.000-08:00Thank you for stopping by, Lisa Lynn. I knew you could make a syrup separately first but that's another step. I don't know if swishing would work with the larger amounts of sugar (the super concentrate could have a cup or two, depending on preference) but certainly with the ones with only 1/4 cup or so. Worth experimenting. Unless you already have and know it works with more.

Thanks again! :)Nataliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13369812070148512991noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1393119746888894084.post-86864087780901226152012-11-04T15:40:28.134-08:002012-11-04T15:40:28.134-08:00Sugar is not necessary topreserve the fruit, it he...Sugar is not necessary topreserve the fruit, it helps color, flavor, and texture. It is the heat processing which preserves the food, by killing the germs that cause fruit to go bad. To prevent the layer of white sugar at the bottom, put a little hot water in the bottom of the jar, add your sugar, and swirl around for a bit to dissolve the sugar. Then add fruit and the rest of the water. The white layer of sugar takes forever to dissolve, plus it concentrates the heat at the bottom of the jar, so increases the risk of jar breakage.Vicki in UThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11100538992180108902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1393119746888894084.post-5245975947043580332012-11-04T12:17:19.706-08:002012-11-04T12:17:19.706-08:00Hi Shavanna and thanks for stopping by! The acid in the fruit does that.

Thanks for the tip about the baking soda. :) Great to know! especially for that Brand of Lids that WILL NOT SEAL. Both sugar and salt are what keeps the fruit from going bad. And I also use a lil baking soda in the lid bath. It softens the rubber, ensuring a good seal!Shavannahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17146429353708026599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1393119746888894084.post-56202894380546151362012-11-04T05:32:59.722-08:002012-11-04T05:32:59.722-08:00i would have never thought to can grapes - very cl...i would have never thought to can grapes - very clever!

thank you for sharing with the Wednesday Fresh Foods Link Up!
